On behalf of the Chinese Institute of Engineers/USA-Southern California Chapter (CIE/USA-SOCAL), I would like to cordially welcome you to be our newest member.  CIE/USA-SOCAL is a non-profit professional organization for Chinese-American as well as the other Asian American engineers and scientists or their supporters.  The objective of CIE/USA-SOCAL is to promote communication among all engineers and scientists who are interested in the well being of the engineering community in the Southern California region and to make some contributions to their communities.   

In 2010, CIE/USA-SOCAL was formed to promote CIE/USA’s mission (see page 2) within the southern California region.  Through application (since 2009) and approval by the CIE/USA national council in February 2010, CIE/USA-SOCAL was formally established and became the youngest chapter of seven local CIE/USA chapters. 

Services you can count on CIE/USA-SOCALto deliver are:

  • Expanding your professional network via multiple venues such as newsletter, parties, seminars and conferences
  • Advancing your career via professional development workshops in many areas such as leadership and communication
  • Helping your local community by participation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) events
  •  Making your voice heard by relentlessly advocating betterment of scientists and engineers to local, regional and national politicians

Contributions CIE/USA-SOCALis counting on you are:

  • Spreading the word of our organization mission passionately
  • Engaging our organization’s activities frequently
  •  Leading our organization to grow and make this organization the best it can be

  •  CIE/USA is only Asian American member of EWeek Foundation board and Diversity council
  •  CIE/USA is the sole sponsor of  prestigious award named “Asian American Engineers of the Year Award”
  •  CIE/USA’s chapters have established reputations for developing many valuable local activities
  •  CIE/USA has close ties to both mainland China and Taiwan. Annual conferences are held in both locations
